Loneliness is a Growing Problem

Posted by Sales Force One on

Welcome back to our blog page. We hope you’ve found it engaging so far, and we hope to spark your interest once again with our latest blog.

This blog will highlight the key factors relating to loneliness, those affected due to disabilities, the effects, the strategies, and policies implemented to overcome the barriers and social issues of loneliness.

Most commonly, loneliness is described as a state of solitude or being alone, as opposed to a state of mind. Lonely people often crave human contact; however, the state of mind can make it difficult to form connections with other people (Verywellmind.com, 2021.) Imagine the challenges that are faced by people with disabilities.

New Policies and Opinions

As a person who has been blind-deaf all my life, I am astounded yet unsurprised by the treatment that is metered out by government departments such as the DWP and similar. I have had a profound experience with the DWP and disability work programs. As you may have read on our web page, I've had experience both positively and negatively with Possibilities, and I've been on Henshaw's skill step course. I’ve also had a vast amount of voluntary experience in the voluntary work arena. I had a bad accident in a voluntary placement, which instead of seeing a glass half empty approach, I now see as a glass half full approach. It has made me stronger and more determined.

Technology

Today's blog will focus on equipment that is available for Severe Sight Impairment (SSI), blind and deafblind people. We appreciate that this blog is written by a deaf blind person, though, we do hope it gives you an insight as to what is out there.

My primary school also loaned me a printer with it. I loved working with its 20 cell braille display and its clunky synthetic voice, and screwing the cable into the printer when I wanted to print something off for my teacher.

Impact of Ethical Recruitment

Our candidate Tom, who has the tagline Tom the awesome autistic artist, got his tagline from his TS checklist. I first met and his mother in early 2019. Tom had previously amassed a degree in Illustration. After his degree, he wasn't given any help from university professionals or from DWP to help find work. Tom and his mum came to us from breaking barriers whose founder has children with autism and who helps those with autism and their families in all manners of support.

Tom's mother burst into tears on their first meeting with us. "Tom is stuck in his room. All this work we've all put in, and it's all in there waiting to come out!" She said. Seeing and hearing your child in emotional and-or physical pain leaves you in pain. You feel helpless and powerless yet with a burning ambition to make your child happy, though many of us with disabilities don't know how to go about this.

Introduction

This blog is a weekly long-running initiative provided by Ethical recruitment solutions movement to get all sorts of perspectives into the reasons why there is such a low number of disabled people not in employment. We intend on broadening this bye delving into the education of people with disabilities particularly those 25 and older.

At Ethical recruitment solutions, we aim to find disabled people their dream job if possible. We realise that this statement sounds rather flippant, though if you jump onto our website, you’ll find several testimonials as to how we’ve helped people.

We help people earn money on week 8 of their pathway to employment, bye training them to be commercial salespeople. With our exquisite new handwash collections, we know how daunting yet exciting this will be.
